He's a war criminal. We arresting his criminal ass on arrival?

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago

We do and it'll immediately be declared the shooting was bait

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 points 3 days ago

Agreed, This is very serious.

We need to respect all the victims and pursue the best justice we can. Investigate and document everything and everyone. Verifiable facts. Real law. Interviews of defendants and victims. Documents, photos, videos. Broadcast it all live.

Netanyahu is the Prime Minister, not President. The President is more of a ceremonial role, similar to our Governor General.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

The president is also a war criminal who said there is no innocent Gazans

[–] Tenderizer@aussie.zone 0 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

A war criminal is someone we're obligated by law to arrest. We are not obligated by law to arrest the president of Israel (only the prime minister).

[–] Quokka@quokk.au 2 points 2 days ago

Yeah, let's maybe not leave that up to the state/legal system to decide who is and isn't a war criminal. They're terribly biased and bad faith arbiters.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

So Bush was not a war criminal?

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone -1 points 5 days ago (2 children)

That makes him a horrible person. It doesn't make him a war criminal.

"Why is Hitler a war criminal he didn't pull any of the triggers"

He's literally the head of state of a country doing a genocide.

[–] Ilandar@lemmy.today 4 points 4 days ago

Hitler was put on the United Nations War Crimes Commission's first list of war criminals in December 1944, after determining that Hitler could be held criminally responsible for the acts of the Nazis in occupied countries. By March 1945, at least seven indictments had been filed against him.

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Hitler was actually the one ordering it. That's Netanyahu's role in Israel. The President is more like our Governor General, or the King. A largely ceremonial role.

Sorry I don't follow. Could you elaborate?

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

cmon man surely you know lemmy by now?

Could you elaborate?

Israel bad. that's literally it.

I can't believe you haven't picked this up seeing some of the most brain dead responses I've got

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Israel bad

Well, yes. That's true.

And Israel's president is, by all accounts, also a terrible person.

But he's a terrible person with limited powers. Not like Israel's Prime Minister, or America's President.

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No I'm saying Lemmy users aren't smart, you are, but most Lemmy users are on par with Trump supporters, single minded, one eyed:

post says thing I disagree with, downvote >:| - average lemmy user

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No offence, but that screenshot is not particularly useful. Because it's not as simple as "thing I disagree with, downvote". There are serious reasons to believe the post itself is low quality, presenting biased, directed results as representative of the whole population.

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago

it’s obviously not those, it’s a poll of the general population, the methodology is available and it’s pretty well known most Australians can’t stand tiktok trends, we’re a lot more conservative than you think

if you need more evidence you can easily find it by posting something accurate but not popular and see downvotes come in … like what you posted earlier for example …

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 0 points 2 days ago

my gosh you're getting downvoted even though you're right, it's left on left violence!

[–] makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml 4 points 5 days ago

Ahhh, thank you. I had no idea.
