Yeah I guess some degree of responsibility, but it's probably minimal. It's true that they did not try, and probably some of them wanted fascism as long as it didn't happen to them, some of them didn't know, I don't think it matters either way, because the average person is genuinely powerless against the system. I also don't think voting for Trump is the same thing as using AI to generate clickable icons and clipart slop... but, I am going to stop using AI because of the nude photo thing. I knew that some weirdos did that to women they know and I knew pedos did that to people's kids they find on Facebook, I just didn't know it was happening on the clearnet. I assumed those stories were about weird online forums or on the deep web, or on an onion site or something. This is so crazy.

I suppose I don't even want to hear specifics about that use of machine learning...

[..] because the average person is genuinely powerless against the system

that is what the rich assholes want us to believe. Of course the individual is powerless, but if just 10-20% of mankind happened to be pulling on the same end of the rope for once (I know, fat chance of that happening), this stupid system could be fixed. As long as people are willing to betray their peers for minimal (perceived) personal gain, we're being useful idiots to those who have been stealing their billions from everyone.

Yeah, fat chance. You essentially think I'm personally responsible for AI because I occasionally use it to make filler clipart. There is no way in hell that you're going to accept any of my existing flaws, let alone approach me with anything resembling class solidarity in order to stage some type of revolution or whatever. I don't expect that there are too many people willing to overlook petty bullshit like that to be honest.
