Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

So now we can add “directly capturing a sovereign leader” to the list of crap the US has done. So what do you think will actually be “the straw that broke the camels back” for world leaders to actually do something? Think it’ll be significant or something mundane?

For them miserable fucks to vote for the Democrat candidate.

For China to stop being a fucking asshole and start being a world leader instead. They would be handed the title so easily if they just did the bare minimum of a powerful, civilized country.

  1. Recognize Taiwan as an independent country and start actually advancing a rules based world.
  2. Stop flooding the world with cheap state-subsidized junk.

Those things are literally all they would need to do. We would drop USA like a sack of rotten potatoes.

Blaming China for the US being a shitshow is hilariously stupid

VGA meant to say that China would replace the US if they acted better. VGA is not blaming China for the US.

However I will assign a little blame to China for Trump because TikTok helped get Trump elected. I strongly suspect that there was a backroom deal between TikTok/China and Trump prior to the 2024 election.

This article is the most damning: https://www.theinformation.com/articles/how-tiktok-courted-conservatives-before-trumps-win (archive/non-paywall: https://archive.is/TUjo9)

The top leaders pushed through content moderation changes that made TikTok more accepting of some conservative views on the fairness of elections or transgender rights, including by updating policies on banned content or enforcing them differently.

I hate the way they worded that. What they really mean is allowing the big lie (false claims the 2020 election was rigged) and transphobia.

MAGA influencers also view TikTok as a relatively reliable platform to publish pro-Trump content without fear that their accounts will get demonetized, restricted, or worse, deactivated.

"Trump won the election because he listened to first-time voters like myself and joined TikTok to get his message to us directly," RNC Youth Advisory Council Chair Brilyn Hollyhand told Fox News Digital of the impending ban.

President Donald Trump “pleaded” with China’s Xi Jinping during a 2019 summit to help his reelection prospects, according to a scathing new book by former Trump adviser John Bolton that accuses the president of being driven by political calculations when making national security decisions.

China fundamentally can't be the world leader as it's incompatible with the rest of the world it would have to lead. Here we are talking about this on american led internet - not Chinese great firewall. The only thing people want from China is the stuff they make not the Chinese culture or leadership.

The reason why US is so successful at leading the world because it's basically a giant haven for other world cultures which makes it easy to integrate anywhere.

China doesn't necessarily have to lead to control. Look at their investments in Africa over the past decade. The US stopped investing in developing nations so China took the lead over the fastest developing continent. They'll have a ton of influence there for a generation at least, will be able to secure deals and lock the US out of them.
