I look forward to hearing all their "olive branching" and trying to reach across the aisle and proceed to GET NOTHING DONE WHILE STILL MANAGING TO SUCK OFF THE PEDO PROTECTOR PARTY.

We do not want ANY olive branches. They proved who they are. Everything they ask for needs to be shot down immediately (aka vote no), just like they always do. Put them in the corner, shame every one of them that keeps their job.

They proved who they are.

So did the Democrats. Over and over again. You're not going to get anything you're asking for and you're delusional if you expect otherwise. Their job is to calm people down so we can ratchet towards fascism again in a few years.

There are a lot of Democrats that are not in any way progressive. For domestic issues there will always be a few that the GOP can count on to dissent and break the Democrat majority. For isreal-related there will be dozens beholden to AIPAC who will vote however the Israeli government wants.

This is the secondary danger of Trump being terrible: democratic party doesn't have to actually change or improve to win. They just have to exist.

They pulled the olive branch from the dime, you better not offer up another fucking olive branch Dems. (but we all know you will because you still think unhinged MAGA voters will somehow come around)

(but we all know you will because you still think unhinged MAGA voters will somehow come around)

That's not why. Not really. It's because leftwing populism is contrary to the desires of the oligarchs (campaign donors / etc) who own them, while rightwing populism is either acceptable or more often actually beneficial.

Republican / Democrat is offense / defense for the same team owners.

Controlled opposition is the term

[–] 7101334@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Controlled opposition is AOC / Bernie / increasingly-looking-like Zohran. Most Dems don't even pretend to be effective opposition, unless you're 50+ and think a strongly worded letter counts as opposition.

[–] TrollTrollrolllol@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think you are misunderstanding the term. You're referencing actual opposition. Schumer/Jeffries and the majority of the rest of the party are opposition controlled by the oligarchs.

You think constantly reaffirming Israel's right to exist, voting to continue funding its existence and armament, and using terms like "the Netanyahu government" instead of demanding an end to the entire rotten ethnostate apartheid colonial project qualifies as "opposition"?

If so, the only one misunderstanding the term "opposition" is you.

Anything less than burning through the Epstein list and arresting every single one of them, while making the biggest effort they can to undo everything that's happened during the Trump terms should not be accepted
