Not a direct answer and this video is out of date with current events, but the background on the current state of El Salvador is worth knowing: https://youtu.be/WtkI-QAgM6w

"national security". On Facebook. Okay guys. A better title would be "Zuck offered to completely legally sell their data (yes it's their's , read the ToS) to China in a completely legal bid to gain entry into China. It's not even alleged that he broke any laws.

The real problem is that the US doesn't have any digital data privacy laws, so ToSs for these services can contain whatever the host wants, and they can do whatever they want with the data. But that will never happen.

When you have government officials saying they want to default on the "risk free" bonds it undermines markets in a completely unprecedented way.

Shockingly stupid.

That last statement accurately describes the constituents of those government officials and large swathes if the American electorate. The fact that it's politically viable to muse about these things is so fucking idiotic . So many Americans owe their safe and prosperous lives to things of which they are completely ignorant.

It still amazes me that all of those investors and endorsers were so dazzled by her sales pitch that nobody bothered to actually get confirmation of any of the technical details. They just believed...that's it.

Someone somewhere is already asking whether a CEO's job can be done by AI.

I wonder if someone with gif skills can make one of the final scene in that movie where Bond is standing there waiting for the missiles to hit and one missile is tariffs , another is the next pandemic, and another is a breakdown of the geopolitical world order.

I wish I had the skill but I don't.

None of the supporters of this are going to read any of that.

They'll have it lobotomized in a few days.

Okay but have you ever tried just throwing genAI at the problem and not caring about the consequences?

Even if you take what he says at face value, his conclusion still doesn't even follow logically.

The stuff you mentioned only matters if people know how to vote in their own best interest, and they don't. All the Tesla protesters and the AOC crowds likely voted Democrat anyways. Nobody's mind has changed.

I think that can start to change in the coming months. On April 2 Trump's full tariffs are going into effect. There will be a retaliatory response from the whole world. But make no mistake. If the election were held again today Trump would still win.

I got the head unit changed in my Subaru . In the Subaru, the systems that the Head Unit controls (entertainment system, backup cam, Sat NAV) are totally separate from critical systems. So everything the head unit controls can fail and the car will still work.

And you're right, there's an interface/translation layer . In my case the guy used an iDataLink Maestro. It seems the only thing the iDataLink company does provide interfaces that allow head units to talk to car computers, so that the Head unit manufacturers don't have to bother.

I'm not sure such separation is common in EVs.
