Nuggets are highly processed anyway, they're usually made from the lowest quality of meat. So the difference might not be noticeable, and vegan nuggets might even be healthier (depends on what additives they put in them, you can of course make vegan products unhealthy too). Usually it's not about the taste though, for most people it's the texture where they can tell the biggest difference. You also digest them differently. Some people don't digest meat substitute products well, for others it's the opposite. Fundamentally the problem is that they are very different on a chemical level so it's less of a substitute and more of an alternative.

Can't hurt to try. No one says it's forbidden for meat eaters to also eat vegan products. As the saying goes, diversity is the spice of life.
