Serinus is now policing the Lemmy.world announcement about defederating with Dbzer0
(lemmy.dbzer0.com)
This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
All posts should follow this basic structure:
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YPTB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.

I got a ridiculous response about how the "offending" instance only had 165 users so no problem.
What a fucking shit bird and I'm fucking pissed I just donated to the server on the last ask.
I've moved servers, I don't need to expanding the only apparent measurement of the worth of an instance. Been on .world for 3 years, but they can go piss up a rope if that's how they judge the fediverse and want to use admins like these two.
Yeah that was Serinus. The fact that comment has been left up and he hasn't been criticisized publicly for it is demonstration of how LW feels. Because its a small instance, it doesn't matter. LW is just bullying instances smaller than them to control the field. The majority of the admin team of LW needs to be completely replaced or defederation is the only acceptable option now. If they're going to threaten and bully, then everyone else needs to cut them off at the knees first to stop them from being able to do so.
"It's only 165 users"
And that's still 165 users that Lemmy.world was more than happy to defederate with to go after someone who isn't even an admin anymore. Not only that, but going after them for what Kaplan admitted was a lack of evidence. Just a feeling.
Letting a single admin unilaterally decide to defederate another instance because someone hurt their fee-fees and then never tried to contact the admin team itself tells you what's going on over there. Then this other twatwaffle defends them with that weaksauce explanation. Of course, they'll still be there going forward.
As I said in a followup comment, now I'm embarrassed I donated a few times in the 3 years I was there. I want my money back.
@Ruud@lemmy.world might be interested in knowing that, considering all his last comments are about donations.
