Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
7) No Hit-and-Run questions.
Please don't delete your post for no apparent reason. If you plan on deleting a question later, say so in the post, or if you feel that you have a good reason to remove it, message a mod beforehand. It's not fair to the ones who took their time to answer, and it's not in the spirit of the community.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

The subcontractors of their network are hit or miss, here in Miami there are always stories about them asking for tips and such after completing jobs.
Yea honestly I don't blame them, their not paid to give a fuck. AAA responders get something ridiculous like 50 bucks a call, half the time their practically losing money to respond. plus every time I have used them it has been multiple hours wait. I cancelled AAA after the "mediator" tried to tell me to eat it when their operator totaled my car, to which I had to get the DOT numbers off the flatbed and chase their insurance my damn self. Id rather properly pay an honest tow company that actually cares lol. That experience left a REAL sour taste in my mouth.
Decades long membership. Zero trouble. Many saves. Worth it.
Better hope u don't have any troubles because the mediators will do everything they can to leave you holding the bag. He and the tow company owner both told me I cannot force them to go through insurance. To their dismay I fucking did! Car totaled out and got my 8 grand back, tow company only offered me 2500 which doesn't even cover the reiger body kit it had on, nevermind the ac condenser it burst releasing freon into the atmosphere, the radiator it knocked the bottom out of or the oil coolers it wrecked that dumped all manner of fluids all over the place. I had a rotten experience and I recognize that's not the norm, but how the company handled it told me all I needed to know!
Two days ago, our favorite plummers sent a dude who botched the job so badly. I smiled and paid the $4hundred plus bill. 8 am next morning I called the office and explained the job was botched. They sent out an experienced plumber who rolled his eyes and apologized immediately. He said he would redo all the work and hire an electrician to handle that part of their disaster and all would be paid by them.
Next day all was made right.
Guess I share that by way of saying, if I had cut them off then and there… I wouldn’t have gotten to see them make right…
And… thumbing that out… I have made your point: you gave AAA every opportunity to make right and they didn’t.
BOO on them.
