My best friend from school and I lost contact after graduating, we met up a couple of times and had a good time, but when I tried to rekindle the friendship he was starting to drift into the alt-right (had always been a libertarian edgy guy, but became completely obsessed with reactionary politics during covid lockdowns). I just found out he is now working for a US arms company.
While it is completely unsurprising, it hit me harder than I expected. Literally a company that builds weapons for Israel to carry out genocide.

See this is why I didn't have any friends in high school. (this is a joke. I didn't have many friends in High school cuz I was a strange child.)
I was VERY strange as a child, likely due to being Autistic.
But also, maybe partly due to being essentially an otrovert (due to my weird tastes and penchant for obscurism, among other things). I had many unpopular opinions due to my weird tastes in stuff and my interest in obscure or unknown things.
Also, I was abused by a narcissistic father for over 20 years, among other things.
I had friends.
But they've since left the state of Virginia.
Also, one of them turned into a huge fascist, as I elucidated below about my friend who went to the Mises Institute.
He is a HUGE transphobe, kinda obsessive about it.
And I'm literally transfem.
We haven't met in years.
He actually kept sending me messages through Telegram (he doesn't know what I do on other socials so that's good at least).
A month or two ago, I deleted and blocked his contacts on Telegram and elsewhere.
I might even delete my Facebook soon and make a new one much later.
He seemed lonely, ngl, and he seemed to still think about me.
We were good friends.
Not anymore.

He has since gone to the Mises Institute in Washington D.C.
He throws lavish parties every weekend.
He has a YouTube channel with 2,000 subscribers at least (that was a few years ago).
Has a wife but I never hear about her.
Has no children for the past few years I think but idk
He was apart of the Libertarian Party but didn't like Trump when we were last together.
Now he loves Trump and is basically a crypto bro
