Yeah - Argentina was never colonised. They just natively look (mostly) quite European and speak Spanish.

When they celebrate their independence day I guess they really mean independant of will and strength of character not independence from Spanish crown.
Argentina celebrates a colony becoming a country, just like the US does. It does not celebrate the exiting of a conquering race and the return to pre-colonial conditions and territories. There is a fundamental difference.
