You’re familiar with market towns in the UK? A bit like one of those but with hours and hours of agricultural land all around it. A solitary high street in the middle of nowhere.

Melt your bank card in acetone. Carefully remove the chip and copper antenna. Place in small mould, fill with resin. Bobby Fingers (YouTuber) did this for a one-eyed friend so he could pay with his eyeball… Consider an rfid blocking case.

Yes - but it is meant to be deliberately backwards as a check and a balance. The idea is that if every law was made and passed by the currently elected politicians only then there’d be a flood of kneejerk reactionary populist laws only. The idea is to have some people with an eye to the bigger picture…

Yeah - back in the day A/S/L was asked so you had a rough idea of the type of person you were talking (typing) with…

37/M/India v 15/F/US would give you a very rough idea of the demographic the other person belonged to - and might shape your conversation differently.

I normally get about four years or so out of an iPhone, with heavy and extensive daily use - works out as less than 50 (US) cents a day. I used to pay more for a newspaper.

I only made the switch when BlackBerry OS10 “failed” and they quit making handsets. I still miss my Z30 though…
