Dunno about 7-11, but I got fed the same line at Kroger, and it's such bullshit. I tried cooking fried chicken to meet demand, and I kept getting told to make more, which would then be thrown away.

What made it worse was that sometimes the chicken would show up a day before expiry, so we'd cook it all at once and you guessed it, thrown away, instant fire bla blah blah.

Edit: Also got told we operated on super thin margins, gee I wonder why when you keep telling me to waste product.

Required to make enough that we dont run out, but giving away the waste you'd think was a murder with how upset they get. It's so stupid.

They're more concerned about keeping stocked shelves for that one guy buying hot food at 3am, than they are about throwing out perfectly good food.

Glad I don't work in food service anymore.

I finally just walked out when management threatened my job when I wanted to do the grab-n-go meats and cheeses instead of filling some mobile order thing for 8piece fried chicken that came in for like 6 or 7 in the morning. Like, seriously, you'd rather make 9 dollars now, than at least 300 (probably double that, those things are expensive and sell out super quick here, WHEN THEYRE DONE EARLY IN THE DAY) here in a little bit when all the workers and housewives come in looking for quick sandwich supplies? Any other day they'd have been whining that I was ten minutes late finishing that up.
