Tom Scott - I know he's well loved and hasn't done anything bad, but he's too "British" for me and something makes me cringe with his videos and I can't quite definitively identify what it is.

I haven't ditched them yet but in less and less interested in the content LTT and Veritasium make and they seem to be heading for dropping off my subscription list.

Switch and click - when she pivoted away from mechanical keyboards then I wasn't really interested in her new content.

I do try to enjoy Tom Scott because he puts effort into his content, it's usually educational, and he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

But I feel that cringe element too. For me it has to do with the fact that he has such an ingratiating personality. He just wants so badly to ensure that everyone and everything is appreciated to the fullest extent and he's made completely sure no one can take anything in the wrong way. And that's a lovely attitude to have in life, but as a presentation style it also feels a bit exhausting. I still watch his videos, but in small doses. There's only so much well-intentioned earnestness I can take in one sitting.

I watch Tim Traveller and What on Earth instead. I don't want to watch someone being overly dramatic while sitting at a kitchen counter.
