You already do. As mentioned in the comments, X-Files had a crossover with Cops, which is our universe.

Ahh! Whatcha am I gonna do when they come for me?

I was looking up how Battlestar Galactica gets pulled in. Partway through the connections the link is Yoyodyne. I suppose that means the Crying of Lot 49 and the rest of Pynchon also get roped in. I wouldn't be surprised if that means a lot more links, although I'm not sure if linking through literature instead of TV & movies is done.

Oh no, it's actually an example of the ridiculousness of TV crossovers. Maybe 90% or more of the connections are subtle nods by writers or directors to other shows to be funny. I think a couple are just re-using the same props for invented products. Very rarely are they intentional.

Yoyodyne just as a funny, not real aerospace company name, gets used in Star Trek as a typically non-visible text on panels. I first heard of it from The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonsai. I'll sure the books by Pynchon were influential sci-fi read by people working on those, and no one ever thought it would be used for some 400+ show/movie crossover list.

I mean that's true for a lot of crossovers, even the ones where an actual character shows up. Tommy may be nonsense, but it's fun to see what you can link up.
