Reddit hid downvoted comments, so if you said something truly contrary, you'd end up just getting buried.
You can indeed have discussions here, but as soon as they start going off the rails, the chances of getting blocked are pretty high.
or getting reported.
i never had like any reddit comment reported in like a decade... then around '22 all the sudden contrary or sarcastic comments became site-wide ban offenses. mostly because people would report you and the AI would ban you, and you had to argue and appeal to get unbanned.
contrarianism was normal and healthy part of the site for over a decade, now it's considered harassment and assault by the AI admins.
