An investigation by Gamers Nexus found LG smart TVs sweep local networks to map phones and nearby devices. Tests also showed the sets can capture microphone audio with the screen off โ€” they then upload data once reconnected to the internet.

I didn't read the article and I've only watched the "trailer" for Gamers Nexus' series on this so far, but I bet they actually do check this at some point.
