People murder their children every 5 days in America. That means that 265 people have wiped out their families since Casey killed her kids. In almost all cases, the father is the perpetrator. Do you know the names, or faces of any of those hundreds of men?
Casey killed her kids because she was nuts. Not even the prosecution disputes this.
People hate her because misogyny and ableism. If she was a man and did it for insurance money, this would barely make the local news.
Not speaking for them, as I don't know exactly what they meant. But I suspect they meant misogyny in the sense that the ratio of female to male coverage of similar scenarios playing out would lead you to assume there would be an equal amount of male father killing his children coverage, but we don't see that reflected in reality.
I suspect that's the media's fault more than anything else.
The case is heavily publicized because 1) many woman relate to a lack of postpartum support in this country and 2) the not guilty by reason of insanity plea which hinges on a 18 minute psychotic break resulting in three murders and is inconsistent with current medical understanding of postpartum psychosis.
The question is whether they'll be able to offset the blame onto the medical establishment and answer seems to be yes, as it seems several of the medical professionals involved in her case may be successfully sued for malpractice.
Within the medical community the case has already changed the practice of many clinicians relating to post partum psychiatric care unfortunately being less likely to be accepted by a practice (and referred to often scarcely available specialized centers) or the threshold to institutionalize patients against their will is now lower given the concern that they may be a danger to their community and that any criminal act theyay engage in could be later framed on their treatment team.
I kind of disagree
It's become a huge story because of the support and empathy that she's getting, while the other cases of infanticide don't receive attention or support (and rightfully so).
Still doesn't make the choice for babysitter any easier
it's a huge case because it's a proxy for the gender war and extremists on both sides have trumpted it as loud as they possibly can. like the bozos here pushing false claims about the evidence.
most normal folks think she's nuts and should be jailed like anyone else who kills her kids.
the insane people think she should be set free and isn't guilty, even though she confessed and all the evidence is clear she did the crime. and many of them claim it was the dad that did it because only men can be evil, and if she did do it, he forced her to do it with psychic powers.
the subtle of court case, whether she is criminally liable for her actions, is completely lost the vast majority of folks, especially the insane people.
No one is saying she should be set free, they're saying she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity.
That gets you locked up in a mental instiution

Yes, they are saying it. Stick your head in the sand all you want. I've seen dozens and dozens of tiktoks saying she should be set free. they are all over. with 1000s and 10,000s of likes and shares.

She was able to control and strangle her three children to death. I feel bad because there’s a documented path of attempting to seek mental heath.
Let’s be real if this wasn’t a white woman it would likely be a max sentence verdict. This was a horrific crime, the type of shit that gets minors charged as adults.
I wouldn't leave children with those guys either.
