To frame it better:
Let's say I cloned arch, changed the default wallpaper to a swastika, put up a blogpost saying "Heil hitler", and then suddenly got over 50X donations than an actually useful and different OS.
Since last year, Linux mint got $280k donations. Omarchy in the last few months got 15 MILLION. Linux mint maintains 2 distros, and 1 desktop environment, and is basically the gold standard for newbie friendly distros. Omarchy is a few dotfiles and a pile of nazis.
Don’t forget Hyprland which is apparently even more problematic
hyprland is problematic?
From what I remember;
Someone in the hyprland discord kept getting misgendered so they put their pronouns in their profile. At some point a mod then changed them to who/cares.
When this came to Vaxry's attention he said something to the affect of "I don't care, sort it out yourselves".
Someone from redhat then either complained or was a member of the freedesktop CoC and he got banned.
Now freedesktop is in an awkward position of one of the biggest wayland DE's no longer being allowed to contribute to the Wayland spec.
Ah, that's not good at all. I did read in the article or webpage or whatwver that hyprland was "banned for allowing transphobia" or something along those lines after writing the comment. Thanks for the extra context tho!
And this fascinating thought experiment relates to Omarchy how?
It relates because you didn't read anything in the thread and are a bad actor.
Did you try reading the remainder of the comment?
Maybe try that before replying next time.
