The current system no longer works for an average citizen. Current and future generations can't expect a higher standard of living than our parents had while the environment gets destroyed all around us. This disillusionment with current ruling class leads people to support anti-establishment candidates which tend to be far right populists. It's still possible for socialists to provide a valid alternative but in many countries the left is too fragmented and/or too focused on the wrong issues.
Left wing populism will rise out of the broken dreams of right wing populism, then maybe we can do democracy again??
Maybe. More likely current system will not survive this and we will end up with some sort of neo-monarchies where powerful leaders control most of the countries (Putin, Xi, Trump... we're already pretty close) working hand in hand with corporations and billionaires operating as independent states and people either working for them, starving or both.
I have the US tech companies bailing out the US debt bubble, and seizing control of the country on my bingo card!

Shows really well what it might look like. Great show, such a shame it got cancelled.
Not yet but its almost TV season over here, so I have added it to my list! Im a big sci-fi fan.
Have you seen anything interesting recently (that's not Start Wars or Marvel)? I'm always looking for good SciFi.
I did Apple TV last winter and I gotta say, they might be the king of sci-fi shows. But i haven't watched TV since there was snow on the ground. Pluribus, foundation, and The silo are the three I'm really excited to get a new season to watch. All the sci-fi shows i watched on there were genuinely enjoyable. I had no idea they were doing sci-fi so it felt like finding a treasure trove. Totally worth dropping the 1-2 months of subscription fees and binge watching.
