How are you rebooting a switch with a connector?
Some dumber manufacturers put the reset button right above a port, such that the clip cover can bump it on insertion.

In some cases it presses the button that is right above the eathernet slots
It presses the button or else it gets the hose again.
I've never seen that button reboot a switch. If held during a reboot it will interrupt the boot process but not initiate it.
As some mentioned, Cisco. 10 years ago I had to work with one of it's partners, and this was a massive deal.
Spent months just making sure everywhere it was stated they had that issue.
