No, but it will affect someone you love who might be gullible enough to believe their bullshit. Public health education saves lives because it innoculates them against believing in stupid shit like thieves' oil, horse paste, and piss-drinking.
Humans have a genetic instinct to trust their in-group, and we have a bad habit of being slow to accept new information unless we've trained the habit. It's a really nasty combination for people who never really learned critical thinking skills.
If someone I love is drinking their own piss, I will roast the fucking shit out of them.
If someone I love believes drinking their own piss is a miracle cure, that's no longer someone I love.
