It’s October, and the political environment is really, really, REALLY bad for the Republican Party.

Agreed, they are at best temporary allies.

And even then we must be careful. Her philosophy of trying to woo disaffected GOPers was directly or indirectly adopted by the Harris campaign in 2024 which I believe to be one of the main things leading to her loss.
