Yes, we'll have a run-off by the 25th. Either way, it's a lost cause.

Two scenarios:

  1. The Bolsonaro Son does take the seat, has his 4 year mandate, Bolsonaro Father is eligible again, or even, maybe, there's Bolsonaro Wife or Bolsonaro (The Other Self Exiled) Son comes back from the US of A. 2030 will be fun!

  2. Lula, through divine intervention, wins the election. He's still dead in the water. Bolsonaro's party, the Liberal Party (PL, in Portuguese), has a third of the Senate seats. Another third os from a hodgepodge of Right parties that are Bolsonaro aligned. As The Intercept said it better: "Bolsonaro will have ease in changing the Constitution, where Lula'd've had a hard time approving a simple budget law".

I'm, as best as I can, telling people how electoralism has been (and already arrived) dead. We, the proles, the working class, cannot allow a single inch of rights to be taken from us. There's nothing to be "negotiated".

I hate social democrats so hard, so I'll stop here, before I rant even further.
