Musk should be guillotined, but the US Constitution defines treason very spefically for a good reason. And this isn't that.

[–] LilB0kChoy@reddthat.com 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Maybe this isn’t but that doesn’t mean Musk hasn’t committed, and shouldn’t be tried for, treason.

The point is, why is Russia supposedly the enemy of the US again?

Seems the US has lots of enemies, and the liberals and conservatives just disagree on who they should be at constant war with, not if they should be at war.

Really? I thought the point was “Musk must be charged for treason.”

Didn’t realize you conflated a whole different argument into that one sentence.

Maybe take your strawman into the fields with the rest of the scarecrows.

So Russia is an enemy of the US, or is not?

It's giving aid and comfort to our enemy, textbook treason

Don't you have to be a government official to be tried for treason? That said, Musk did run an illegal government agency once, not that long ago. Musk might qualify for treason.

Did the US declare war on Russia this week? I didn't hear about that.

I mean.... Are you "at war" with every enemy all the time or can one have an enemy and not technically be in a state of war?

[–] mattyroses@lemmy.librarysocialism.social -1 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Well, the US is almost constantly at war. I didn't realize you guys also included everyone you're not currently bombing as enemies as well.

Though I guess the US use of Ukraine as a proxy is close enough . . .

[–] jaemo@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 days ago

Er, k, not American. I'll try not to be insulted by the slight, I know my accent probably is indistinguishable from theirs. Its ok. You're growing.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 5 days ago

Fuck off. Russia can end the war in Ukraine any time they want. All they have to do is leave and stop bombing them.
