I've cancelled my subscription yesterday, conveniently it was about to renew at the end of the week, so I have a few days to migrate from Proton, here's what I'm thinking of, but I'd love to hear what other people are switching to

Tutamail is apparently working on nextcloud integration, which I think also is a great option. It will hopefully give the ecosystem experience without the ecosystem buy in.

First of all, that's great in and of itself. I use Tuta for e-mail and I've been looking into a calendar solution to integrate with Home Assistant, and now it sounds like I could connect Tuta Calendar to NextCloud Calendar and then NextCloud Calendar to Home Assistant, so that's cool.

That said, I wish they were doing it even more integrated, in the sense of having Tuta host a NextCloud instance itself so that I didn't have to go through the effort of self-hosting it just for that. (Either that, or they could have Tuta Calendar integrate with Home Assistant directly, but it sounds like that isn't planned [warning: R*ddit link])
