I assume that terminated means dead. Because a pallet reddi-wip, is a shit load of reddi-wip.
Nitrous Oxide is not deadly. If they dont consume for around 1-2 weeks and eat healthy meals for vitamin B12, it will most likely have no long term effects at all. N2O is one of the safest drugs out there if used correctly.
It does let you run really fast.
Yeah, we used to have a connect for Nos when I was a kid, we'd get 15, 20, 30lb tanks of it and just hang around with big punch balloons for hours. When you're done, chase a Five Hour Energy with some Gatorade and you're good to go. Five Hour Energy has 20,000%DV of B12. It was crazy how rapidly you went from feeling dopey and tired to good to go. I would go play hockey games an hour after sitting on nitrous for two or three.
All that being said, that's the inherent danger in nitrous, it is way too easy to do. Hangovers are nature's way of telling you not to fuck with shit too much. You can all but eliminate that from nitrous, and that's no bueno.
They lost like half their already tenuous IQ points but they should be fine otherwise. It's mostly harmless.
Whippits are definitely not, "mostly harmless".
I know of several people that were really into whippits that are dead now, but it wasn't from the whippits. It was from all the other stuff they did in addition to whippits.
They are
The short summary is "Yeah, it's what pretty much anyone would call mostly harmless".
The long summary is "It is not completely without risk, especially for those rare people with a complicating factor that leaves them prone to B12 deficiency, but chronic symptoms only come from high risk individuals and chronic heavy exposure". And the reports of "nitrous psychosis" are pretty much just rumor, from what I know there have been no studies that found you could "go crazy" from nitrous oxide exposure. The recorded neurological effects are minor and reversible in all but the most extreme cases of complicating factors.
NO2 MSDS for anyone curious. Aside from potential respiratory depression from inhalation, there are no side effects listed.
More recent literature has examined the association with NO2 toxicity and B12 deficiency. Long term sustained exposure to high levels of NO2 can in some rare circumstances cause B12 deficiency, leading to neuropathy/parathesia and associated neurological phenomena (side note that in all the literature I've seen it is treatable).
It's also quite uncommon to experience these side effects even with heavy use:
Incidentally the only deaths reported from NO2 use have been from suffocation. However it's important to note that clinical and recreational use should be avoided by people with a condition that makes them prone to B12 deficiency:
Appreciate that long writeup. And a mitigating factor is supplemental vitamin b12. B12 fortunately exists everywhere, but taking either a supplement or something rich in B12 post Nos exposure can help to mitigate the negative effects.
Just make sure the room is ventilated because nitrogen is heavier than the air, it will slowly gather and you could suffocate without realizing it.
If you're doing them in a rail tank, maybe. But the same goes for breathing then.
Sounds like a sweet way to go, if you can hotbox the bath or something
It can settle in your lungs regardless of how the room is ventilated. Not that most anyone will die from it, but these idiots wouldn't understand what low oxygen does to a brain even if it were a worm in there instead.
It does not "settle in your lungs" because that's not how lungs work at all. You can of course suffocate if the atmosphere is sufficiently saturated with NO2, but your lungs are more than capable of fully expelling water; removing a gas is not difficult.
Seriously, where are you getting your info from?
Removing a gas that's heavier than O2 is in fact half of what they do
Goodness gracious, you mean to imply that the atmosphere is composed almost entirely from N~2~ and O~2~? Goodness, now what else can you make from those two atoms... Just can't quite think of it...
Yeah, everything I'm reading in this thread are all the same old wives tales that I remember hearing 15+ years ago all the time. These are DARE facts as far as I'm concerned, and they just propagated.
If you're doing aerosol cans you're already light in the brain department. Nothing of value is lost.
Nope. Ignorance is not safety.
Not knowing basic physics is not being right.
Not only confidently incorrect, now youre even insulting. Maybe try learning some actual facts about the stuff you are talking about instead of relying on fearmongering abd being butthurt.
They are correct - nitrous oxide inhalation does not automatically cause brain damage.

(edit: clarity, typo)
Yea, if you do it once. How many dipshits do it once? Besides, I personally know multiple people that have chronic issues from doing it too much.
Again, your ignorance does not reflect reality. Period.
I'm terribly sorry, but do you happen to have any sources? The literature does not reflect, well, absolutely anything you're saying.
People do not huff pure lab grade chemicals in the real world. People do not stop when it's prudent in the real world. The fact you're defending huffing oxygen-displacing gas is not just weird but exceptionally pathetic.
So that would be a "no", then. What a wonderful world would it be if the strength of our convictions alone truly reflected the veracity of our beliefs.
No need to hurl slurs over this - besides, it's not an explanation of their behavior here; by any classic definition I would be considered retarded, and I'm far more informed on this subject than they are.
Do not use ableist slurs here.
It's a quick up and down. I took the OOP's meaning as they were doing them for a prolonged period of time during the shift.
