Finished Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition !

It took almost 100 hours, but finished the game. Still have some side content left, mostly requiring levels in late 40s or above, not sure I'll clear that or not though.

I have been sharing my feeling throughout so not much to add here. As I mentioned last week, Act 1 and 2 of Chapter 13 felt a bit of a filler, but I enjoyed the final act, and the ending. Typical weird Xenoblade stuff where I don't understand half the stuff.

Overall, even though I have a few complaints, and it's not my favourite Xenoblade, I enjoyed the game, and can't wait for Monolith's new game.

Played more Marvel's Midnight Suns. Completed Part 1 of the game. From what I gather there are 3 total parts, with 1st being the longest and 3rd being shortest. Super hero drama continues, with evil getting stronger and heroes facing setbacks after setbacks, I wonder if things will start improving now or we would have to wait till Part 3 for that.

On Switch, I am now waiting for Donkey Kong Banaza, so started couple of smaller(ish) games.

The Hong Kong Massacre, top-down like Hotline Miami but guns instead of melee weapon. You can roll to evade and slow down the time. It has very John-Woo vibe.

I am using slow-motion excessively, only way I can survive and clear the level. Each level has 3 challenges. Clear within specific time, clear without using slow-motion and clear without missing a single shot. Suffice to say I haven' come even near completing any single challenge.

The stars you get for completing level (1 star for completing level, +1 star for each challenge you complete) can be used to upgrade your guns. You can pickup any dropped gun and I believe upgrades apply to them too.

Levels are divided in days, with each day having about 7 levels, I am at the last day now, will hopefully finish it in few days.

Salt and Sanctuary: Got stuck on a particular Hong Kong Massacre level, so took a break and started Salt and Sactuary. It's not very difficult, as far as souls-like goes, but not very easy either. Some starting enemies can be button mashed, but there are many enemies where you have to be careful about how you fight, same with bosses. They aren't overly difficult (have only beaten first 5, there are 23 total, I think, if including optional bosses), but you do have to be deliberate and learn the pattern.

There's a big skill tree, but most of it centers around upgrading your classes so that you can wield better equipment, and upgrading your stats like str or dex etc. whatever you want to go with.

Visuals are pretty washed-out and grayish look, which can look good certain times, but when playing at night with low brightness (on Switch) I couldn't even see some of the enemies or traps.

That's pretty much it from my side.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

How bad gamechat is region locked?

[–] slimerancher@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

You need to save and verify your phone number, for that you have to choose your country. So, if your country is not in the list, you can't save and verify your number and can't use gamechat.

I don't know how many countries are missing, but its probably the ones where Nintendo doesn't have an official presence / eshop.

Exactly. You can input a country with eshop in your Nintendo account and enjoy mostly anything with no problems but since gamechat needs phone number it's not as easy.
