It was a "gift" because he demanded it and the FIFA head allowed it after the fact.
The players did not consent and was not aware he was going to steal it.
This is retconning/gaslighting the situation, something he's known the world over for doing.
He's fucking embarrassing. Stop simping for him. He doesn't give two shits about you or anyone you care about.
I like how you didn't know the word, so you used two wrong words that have the same sort of gist! Haha
Retconning is only for fiction. As for gaslighting, that would be pretty hard to prove...
"Misrepresenting" might be a better word there
We're under siege by an actual fascist takeover, millions of people are being hurt, detained, starved, bombed, and killed; and you're on here arguing about the colloquial use of retconning and claiming gaslighting is "hard to prove"? That's the line in the sand you're gonna draw?

"Gaslighting" is commonly misunderstood/misused. Some people seem to use it as a synonym for "lying", but that's not at all what it is.
