I'll be the devils advocate here and say that it is so much more pleasant to shoot with a suppressor. Both for you, and everyone else around.
Personally, in this modern age. There's not a lot of reasons to NOT use one. It's not even that expensive to thread hunting rifles. I think it cost us ~150€ excluding the suppressor.
And I say this from the perspective of a licensed hunter. (And I'm not even american)

What I'm shooting at isn't relevant. What is relevant is that it's significantly quieter. A gunshot is quite distinctive and can be heard over several kilometers. It can cause unnecessary stress for a lot of animals who, justifiably, are terrified by the sound. A suppressor will drastically reduce the range of the sound.
Let's say I want to shoot in a new sight, or see how a new bullet flies over various distances. It is highly appreciated by everyone. Humans and animals alike, that I'm using a suppressor.
An added benefit is also that the recoil is reduced
There is a big difference between guns and guns. I don't know where you are from, but are you sure that you are not even allowed to own a hunting rifle for hunting?
I wouldn't say I have a strong opinion on guns. I suppose that might be subjective but I don't consider myself a gun-nut or anything. If you're just curious, the answer is deer and wild hog, but mostly wild hog. For one they're invasive, and secondly, I think they taste really good, so win, win. But it's a lot of work, not the shooting part, but afterwards to take care of the meat and all. You need to send it in for testing as they could have parasites that are dangerous to humans (even when cooked). I would like to hunt moose at some point but I'm not really in any rush, it's also highly regulated.
As my opinion on guns, I think they should be allowed where it's reasonable, provided the person have a valid weapon license. I see no reason for full or semi-automatic rifles in civilian hands. I'm pretty sure some semi-automatic rifles are legal. But I disagree with it. And it's possible they will ban them soon. I know it's possible to get license for pistols. But it's very rare. You are not allowed to have them for self defense.
America is pretty unique with guns compared to other developed countries. Probably from the UK, where carrying a knife could get you on trouble. 2A keeps us gun owners in the sport.
You can get in trouble for carrying a knife here in Sweden too. Unless you can prove you carry the knife as a tool in your job or hobby. Still, that doesn't mean you can carry a knife when shopping at IKEA just because you're a carpenter.

I'm not even sure where to begin with you. You could have learned something, added a new perspective to your view. Instead, you choose to come in here and just hurl insults.
Believe it or not. A Suppressor drastically reduces the sound of gunshots. Which is quite nice for everyone that lives within 4km of where you are shooting. Including every single animal that lives in the woods since they get, justifiably, incredibly stressed when they hear a loud gunshot.
And as a hunter, you are not allowed to hunt if you don't have access to a dog trained in tracking. Which means that most hunters have a dog, and bring them with for hunting. And if wanting to reduce the sound to better protect the dogs hearing and ensure they don't develop tinnitus. Then I'll gladly be a "half brain with a suppressor"
So no. It's not a cosplay kit. It's a consideration for wildlife, dogs, and people that live in the immediate area.
just tired of dickless cosplayers who want to complete tier sets. so you can be more sneaky when you creep around the woods, murdering animals you don't need to eat because you're a sad little person who needs to kill in order to feel alive.
You're doing an awful lot of projection here. You clearly just want to be angry for the sake of it.
No one has a suppressor to "sneak around" in the woods. I already explained why it's practical and useful.
I could explain to you, why "Nuisance wildlife management" is an important part of maintaining forests, so that everyone can enjoy more houses and furniture, built out of sustainable materials. Or maintaining crops so that we can all enjoy a fresh harvest of vegetables, potatoes and carrots.
But I doubt you care to broaden your horizon beyond finding new ways to be angry.

You see a term such as “Nuisance wildlife management” and think it's about shooting rats or something. If you don't know what something means, you can just ask, or google it. You don't need to guess.
The only thing you are right about is that times change. And that's a good thing. These days the availability, reliability, and quality of suppressors are really good. There is virtually no downsides to use one on a hunting rifle. Simply great for everyone.
I've stated in other comments on this post that I'm fully against semi automatic rifles. But keep making assumptions. You're doing great!

And yes the suppressor is pretty large. That's kind of the point, won't be much noise reduction if it's tiny.
having a suppressor on a hunting rifle isn't an "edge case". It's quite common these days. Like I said. We don't want to blow out our dogs eardrums.
All of this, just because you couldn't comprehend that suppressors have practical use, rather than your preconceived notion that they're just there to "look cool".

There's not some moment where you can hold up your suppressed rifle and say "hey guys, I'm a chud just like you!" they don't fucking care.
