When you consider the first movie adapts the first 1/3rd of the first book, and the 2nd movie kind of fucks up adapting the 2nd 1/3rd... there's a TON more material. 6 books total and it all comes to a very satisfying conclusion.
HBO could get 6 seasons of television out of this if they wanted to and unlike Game of Thrones, it's all done!
I want to read the second trilogy so bad, but it's proving so difficult to get.
The movies were how I imagine a bad drug trip.
Last I checked, they had moved to a new publisher and had all new editions, but the author also kind of went off the rails on the whole Russia/Ukraine issue. He's very much a Russian nationalist, but has Ukrainian heritage so it's this huge complicated mess. :(
Remember when we could just enjoy books without worrying how problematic the author is? Yeeeeaaaaahhhhh...
Looks like they're all on Amazon. Book 4 looks to be the hard one to get. I had to go through the audio book page to find the print edition. It's also called "Last Watch" even though there are 2 more books after it.
