Aerial combat vehicles don't take hit that well.
I bet they look cool when they do though
Rapid unscheduled disassembly while in operation is definitely something people like to watch especially if it has an energetic catalyst.
But it would most likely just end in both aerial vehicles being unable to take flight without repairs, after very few hits if they are still in the air after the first.
