Ye Power Trippin' Bastards

1634 readers
48 users here now

This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Posting Guidelines

All posts should follow this basic structure:

  1. Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
  2. What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
  3. Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
  4. Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
  5. Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.

YTPB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.

MODERATORS

There is a recent desant of Russian trolls attacking Ukraine, with some of them even blatantly saying they support Putin and some others trying to put into doubt evidence of Russian crimes (kidnapping children etc.)

I have been banned from world by @little_cow@lemmy.world for calling one of them out. Also both of my comments, the one in the screenshot and another one where I explain to another user that he is arguing with paid Russian troll have been removed.

The community rules:

  • Rule 5 - Keep it Civil - It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative).

You deserved it, you broke the community rules by accusing someone of being a bad faith actor, which isn't nice.

accusing someone

It is not an accusation if it is based on facts.

which isn't nice

🤦

It is not an accusation if it is based on facts.

This statement is simply false.

Accusations can be backed up by facts. They're still accusations. Facts can make accusations more convincing, but they don't stop being accusations when facts are provided.

What facts do you have to prove what you said? Do you have my bank transactions? Do you have any communication between me and the Russian government?

It is not an accusation if it is based on facts.

Your comment was against the rules of the community. Use the report button, bring it to fediverselore, whatever, but that doesnt change the very simple fact here - you broke the rules.

Thats the only context that matters relative to your ban.

Edit: wad/was. I wasn't talking about Doom, I promise.

Appearing to be is not the same as being. If you have evidence of being, share with the class.

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 months ago

Please give your evidence and citations the user is paid for by the Russian government.

What facts it's based on?

Sir, this is lemmy, we already have a lot of users who sounds like paid trolls, this platform is too small to be targeted by some psyop, I would guess they are simply stupid/delusional/tankie than to be a paid russian agent.
