Wild that this is news.

I wonder what their software setup is. What they using for Id management or managing devices. Is this a government office?

[–] saltnotsugar@lemmy.world 48 points 10 hours ago

Solid move. If your office really just needs a word processor, email, a spreadsheet editor, etc, then Linux is going to make a ton of sense financially.

Anyone else got no audio on the clip? Be cool if there were subtitles.

Went looking for the clip, that was a mistake.

What in the AI clickbait bot spam hell is going on here?

A bunch of randomly different channels, all with similar, sometimes the same, thumbnail, and suspiciously similar timestamps. The videos are like some dude (who I suspect is not a real person) in portrait talking like he’s reporting but it’s all generated painted looking backgrounds of stock photos.

[–] Gonzako@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

What are they replacing office with? I've been using Office Libre but it's buggy AF. I can't use sheets on a second monitor because it freezes until I move it back the main monitor for example.

Oh that's pretty neat projects. Wonder if Germany, Netherlands and France will go with this over euro office.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 5 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I use libre office on a second monitor and its fine. That honestly does not sound like a problem with software. It should not care how the os displays it to hardware endpoints.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

That's wierd... I wonder why it gives me a hard time?

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah so everything else works fine on it. I mean you should be able to exculsively use the second monitor without your laptop screen. Like software does determine all sorts of aspects of how it displays to an os but the os is deciding on display sources. software does not dictate that.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

For sure, no idea why it freezes until I drag it back.

[–] Barbarian@sh.itjust.works 11 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Personally I use LibreOffice, it's very solid.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 4 hours ago

Try LibreCalc

[–] moonlight@fedia.io 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Not sure what they're using, but OnlyOffice is pretty good

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I'll give that a go, thank you!

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

um. are you having a conversation with yourself where you recommend something you use and your now going to check it out???

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Open Office and Only Office are the same thing? I'm confused.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah this is hard to explain but in my view you have what appears to be an empty reply and because of it, it looks like moonlights reply is yours. Ill try and paste it here.

Uh your client's doing something weird. Here's Lemmy's regular website version:

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

That's wild, looks fine on my phone. I'm using boost, but not the dyslexia font. Not sure that makes a difference, it shouldn't...?!

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

yeah it could be the font. I think because there is nothing in it and you have the icon while moonlights has no icon it just sorta seems to merge together. Anyway that was why I was confused. It looked like you suggested something to yourself.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not above talking to myself when others around! It's cool now that I'm old 🤣

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 2 minutes ago

I do plenty with my dog but get sheepish if people are around. same with whistling and singing.

[–] BlackVenom@lemmy.world 0 points 9 hours ago
