Are there ways to import Stremio plugins locally? Or any other ways that insure these plugins work without reliance on a valid website?

Per this Reddit thread, indexing services like Torrentio cost money to run and will stop functioning if their servers go down. Thankfully there are alternatives to Torrentio—such as the free Jackettio plugin and the paid Debridio plugin—to ensure continued functionality should anything happen to Torrentio.

Torrentio already becomes unstable under heavy load, so I would recommend using another service in conjunction with it as a backup.

You can selfhost some but mines are not for english content so can't recommand any

Edit: as requested in comment (for the froggies) Before i list, basically any addons available at gitlab/github are self hostable (they are quite a few), just make sure addon is compatible with your debrid service, your prefered PT, streaming site and content you want to watch (for clean mapping)

  • Wastream (DDL and streaming site)
  • Comet (Private and open tracker) actually they should be a version for english content and probably other languages
  • streamfusion (private and open tracker)

Something i have never used is aiostream (allow to aggregate addon and lots of customisation), seems to suit a lot of people. It also has a community Addon marketplace, so you may discover addons you don't know about, check if those are also available as selfhost (probably will)

there's also bitmagnet, which is not a torrentio drop-in replacement, but it's a selfhostable public DHT scraper and indexer
