Job markets absolute shit right now.

Linkedin's good for recruiters, and networking with previous employees/stalking what companies they ended up at. I never had luck applying to jobs through linkedin though.

Hiring.cafe's good for finding hidden stuff.

Glassdoor for researching whether or not a company's any good....they are getting worse over time though, fully expecting some kind of paid version to come out down the road.

Indeed, you already covered, but there were a handful of listings that turned into interviews for me. Ziprecruiter, never used cause it posted repeats usually.

If there's a specific line of work you do, try to find social media on it. Some communities will have job boards on them.

Outside of that, just need good luck and patience 🙏

The website aggregates the jobs from the direct websites of companies and I don't believe allows posting so there are a ton less "fake" listings. Just found my latest job last week on there and cannot recommend it enough.

Not sure the ethics of the methods of the aggregation but it certainly was a fresh air especially since you do not need an account.

LinkedIn can be annoying but can give you a vague sense of what to search for.

Then once you have specific terms just throw stuff at search engines and apply directly to career pages/employer sites instead of through a job aggregator.

It’s not foolproof but that’s how I found my current job.

I don’t think which job site you use matters all that much, as long as you’re using it to find the careers page for the company that you want to apply for, and apply there, rather than through the aggregator.

There's no best site, depending on your work the market has just been completely broken at this point. If in the US, the jobs numbers are being manipulated and things are in a historically bad position. We're so much worse off than is being discussed .

One of the key factors in the acceleration toward the Holocaust was extremely high unemployment and groups that felt desperate and/or had nothing left to lose. Take away hope from all, promise one group that the only thing stopping them from succeeding at that point is the "other" group.

It's a dark answer, but we are living in dark fucking times and it's true.

Here’s a query I used to use to look at all employer hiring sites directly without going through a job board.

Just play around with the titles and any additional things you want. But it generally pulled from the sub domains of companies that used greenhouse, workday, etc for their job boards.

Go to networking events like neighborhood get togethers or big events in a city nearby. Talk with people and opportunities open up. Sometimes I look on Indeed but contact them directly or in person.

Most people my age (40s) in the trades are looking fruitlessly for good helpers. Easy $30-40/hr after a couple years if you can read a measuring tape, show up sober & on time and stay off your phone.

In my experience, almost every job I've ever had was earned through making connections to people. I went to an event, introduced myself to people that looked interesting, and either asked for a job or was randomly offered one. I've also secured a couple jobs the old fashioned way applying with a resume or responding to Craigslist posts but all the jobs I really enjoyed came from talking to people IRL at events.

Working with recruiters seems to be the best way to find new positions right now

I have been most successful through referrals and in-person connections vs online. Online gave me a lot of empty responses in job apps filled out, and seems like the biggest time waster.

Indeed seems better fit for SMBs.

LinkedIn is cutthroat corporate jobs and ass-hat humble bragging dipshits. If anything, LinkedIn allowed me to reach out to people I knew or know and still talk to, ask about how they like their jobs and company, and ask for a referral. That's the best route. Doesn't catch them off guard, and tells you if they like you enough to stick their neck out for you.

I use linkedin but can't say its great. Its my primary because it has my connections along with references I have recived and given. As such I set it up the most with all my info. I think I got my last job from it but its kinda hard to say looking back at email. I don't see how else the recruiter would have found me though. Its funny how these things get passed around its hard to say where it even started until it was somewhat of a real thing. Been unemployed for almost two years looking on linkedin though.

Depends where you live honestly, but I had luck with jooble although you'll have to go on the recruiting agency site.
