From the outside it appears these people are walking contradictions: they're the most hateful people you'll meet, yet they preach goodness to all men. Once religion was decoupled from the state it became a voluntary institution. The cults of Christianity attract self-loathing individuals who feel they need an external structure to keep them in line. That's why you find so many pedophiles in these cults.
