Christ on a stick, what the hell did they ever do to deserve this kind of collective punishment??? This is insanity.

I think the US is just bitter. They had a thing going there; Castro ended it. Cuban government took US assets. Cuban government would later partner with the soviets, including the whole nuke thing.

I was really hopeful the Obama policies would turn Cuba into just another Caribbean island, but here we are. I don't know much.

Edit: So in short, they're really close to the US and not aligned with the US politically, which is a problem. And you might say the same about Canada or Mexico but it's on a completely different scale.

obama relaxed some trade embargo with cuba, and it was reversed asap by trump in his first term. the gop in florida depend on the cuban immigrant and thier children to vote R, i dont know if texas has a community, those are usally the 2 states with alot of hispanic populations.

It's more than that. Going soft on Cuba means losing out big on Latino voters. They, particularly Cuban immigrants/refugees, want Cuba's government to burn.

Basically you stand to lose Florida if you stop oppressing Cuba and it's a pretty important swing state

No, this is genocide. We've moved from supporting genocide to engaging in it. And next it will come for dissenters.

Pepperidge farm remembers when Obama tried to normalize relations with Cuba.
