"Speaking to reporters before getting onto his helicopter to go to the Nato summit in The Hague, Trump said he was unhappy with both Israel and Iran for breaking the ceasefire agreement he brokered.

Reserving his harshest criticism for Israel, he said: "Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I've never seen before, the biggest load we've seen.

"I'm not happy with Israel. When I say 'OK now you have 12 hours', you don't go out in the first hour and drop everything you have on them. So I'm not happy with them. I'm not happy with Iran either.""

"I know I gave Israel all these weapons, plotted with Netanyahu to commit genocide and start a massive war in the middle east, dropped bombs on Iran, and threatened Khamenei's life, but this was about getting attention away from all the shit I'M doing in the US! I didn't want to get caught up in a war, I just wanted people to stop being mad at me and redirect then away from all the constitutional violations I'm committing, the people I'm deporting illegally, all the rights I'm stripping away from everyone, and all the government institutions in sabotaging. Oh, and I was supposed to get a nobel prize and a resort in Israel when Bibi agreed to stop his war, so now he's screwing that up too!"

Genuinely seems like someone told Trump this would be called "the twelve days war" and he would get a nobel peace prize for it. Bibi probably agreed and fell over in tears laughing when Trump left the room.

Precisely how I imagine any political meeting goes with him. It's like The Emperors New Clothes, except the king is a complete and stubborn moron on top of being vain and naive.

"The Emperor's New Brain"

[–] drhodl@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

Two Doll Donnie does NOT think this deep. He dropped bombs because he was being lambasted for yet another "Decide in 2 weeks" decision. It's a kneejerk reaction to being called a TACO, that is all. USA goes to war these days because the POTUS clown got it's fee fees hurt.

When I say 'OK now you have 12 hours', you don't go out in the first hour and drop everything you have on them.

What did he expect? They had 12 hours left to bomb the shit out of Iran before the cease fire applied to them. Of course they were going to bomb Iran, and naturally Iran would retaliate. Why didn't the cease fire apply to everyone at the same time?

I think its an outdated concept to allow time for communication to reach all forces? Doesn't really work in the modern world.

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Troops in the field don't have cell phones and wifi, they have radios at best. A sat phone if they're really important.

Yeah the individuals probably still have personal devices (even though they're not supposed to) but they don't keep a phone tree, and it's unlikely they have service in a war zone.

We’re not talking about people in fields with spears. These hypersonic missile facilities and fighter jets have plenty of communication channels with the top brass.

Rich, coming from him.

He blindly jumped into a sudden exchange of bombs because he didn't want to be left out. I'm pretty sure Israel and Iran know very well that Trump is out of his depth, and that that's why they ignore him.

Of course he's right that they should stop, but everybody sees he's a broken clock that just happens to be right this time. He lacks understanding and authority to handle these sort of conflicts.

Trump is out of his depth

Ehehehe

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 25 points 5 months ago

Let's actually hear him out in this one: he's a subject matter expert on not knowing what the fuck he's doing.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 19 points 5 months ago (1 children)

That sounds like antisemitism. /s

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 13 points 5 months ago

Only a nazi would point out Israel’s bullshit claims of antisemitism every time they commit an atrocity. /s

Every accusation is a confession, right?

[–] naught101@lemmy.world 13 points 5 months ago

I think this one is more subliminal than the others.. Usually they're just trying to deflect and distract and using accusations to do it.. This time he's legitimately annoyed and just being honest.

Not that there's much practical difference..

So regal. Just a class act, unlike that Obama fellow. ~/s~

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 10 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Hey, Donald, projecting again?

[–] themadcodger@kbin.earth 4 points 5 months ago

No, as an expert on not knowing what the fuck he's doing, he's just confirming.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 10 points 5 months ago (1 children)

This is definitely projection, because it's very apparent to anyone with eyes that Trump doesn't know what the fuck he is doing.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

He was gung ho about regime change literally like 2 days ago. Sick of this moron.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

Rapist clown says what?

[–] selkiesidhe@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago
