No but it is cruel and a gross violation of bodily autonomy that should have huge amounts of jail time attached.
Thank goodness my parents said they would rather have left that choice to me when I was old enough. As an adult, why the fuck would I get circumsized unless you have a specific reason to do it?
I'm jealous that your parents cared enough to let you decide. I wish mine had done the same.
As for why you would do it willingly I don't know either.
I got the last laugh. I was cut as a newborn, but I still didn't end up with the parts my parents wanted. They took a little snip. I went for the full origami of gender reassignment surgery. 🤣
Take it one step further, and invent an entirely new set of genitals just to piss them off!
I went for the pretty standard fem package. But there are folks doing some pretty wild things out there now.

Agree. I’m from Europe and I find it very weird how common it is in the US
It's SO common in the US that while growing up I felt ashamed and incredibly self concious of being uncircumsized in high school showers. Life's so strange.

I’m from the US and didn’t circumcise my son. It’s really simple. Who doesn’t want more penis? I’d take more penis. Penis is all good. Why subtract penis?
When my older brother had a son he DID circumcise him. When I asked why, he gave me this head shake as if to say “huh? what?” and all he said was “that’s just how they do it at the hospital we went to.”
I mean labor and childbirth are a whirlwind so I don’t blame anyone for losing a detail or two. Unless that detail subtracts a part of my penis. Then we gone fight.

OK but it is still a barbaric practice and I don't see why we allow it. Just because it is culturally accepted does not make it OK.
You're against circumcision because you believe it causes autism.
I'm against circumcision because I believe genitally mutilating non-consenting infants is an atrocity.

Well, they answered for "just after birth", but what about a week later? Or two? Or a month? Or 2hours and 12 minutes? We don't know anything that. I would not take that risk.
