I would have said Adventure Time but someone else got there first. I'm only about a third in but maybe Persona (5)? For the music alone 🎶

Starfield. Its boring as fuk, and that's what you want. Nice quiet life. With spaceships.

Wouldn't mind being isekaied to Palamustus from He Who Fights With Monsters.
Provided I get to be some kind of normal Outworlder like Travis or Taika, def don't want to be dealing with Jason level shit.

As awful as Rimworld can be, there's also some amazing tech that would be great to have. Sure 99% of the planet is some combination of nuclear wasteland, cannibals, Eldritch terrors, ravenous marauding insect swarms and capricious machine god puppets, but my colony is a paradise bastion where each colonist is perfected, given only the taks that fulfill them most, and catered to every need and desire in utmost luxury. Except body purists, but fuck those guys some people simply refuse to be happy.

I feel like I'd totally die of an infected papercut or get mauled by a pack of rampaging Labradors on the Rim, but in the meantime I volunteer for crafting/ research duty!

You sound like the kind of person that would be kidnapped, have your legs and arms cut off, your eyes removed, the unnecessary organs harvested for sale, only to finally be given over to the tax collector as dues on their next visit.

Honestly, my own, but it would depend heavily on exactly where.

In the city of Dragonwatch on New Earth, humans, chimera, and xenos live together in something resembling the modern world but cooler. There's public transit and healthcare that actually work. Augmetics are common, but not required. Nobody uses the terms 'cis' or 'trans' because changing your gender just isn't a big deal. And because I'm writing smut, there's plenty of opportunities for vigorous entertainment.

Also, no cell service. I'm bringing back phone booths. If you want a network connection outside your house, you go to a terminal and plug your slate into the network. None of this instant communication that's ruining fiction these days.

I haven't actually written much, and I'm committed to do the actual writing part without ai, and it's going very slowly (was really proud of doing 15k words in two weeks and since then I've done 100 words in six months). I do use ai for compiling my notes and exploring ideas, and for other uses outside this project. That's going to be an automatic no from some people and I respect that. If it helps, 99% of the major character and locations and other important details I had established before generative ai was a thing. I've been dicking around with this setting since 2001, and have only started using ai a couple years ago.

Anyway, external validation helps the creative process, if my setting sounds interesting I'd love suggestions for communities where I can post chapters when I eventually have something worth sharing.

So long as it's post-show, I would have basically zero qualms living in the Summer Camp Island universe. No spoilers as to why.

I also wouldn't mind living in the Legend of Hei universe if I was a spirit. The caveat being I am some animal spirit. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't like it as much. Being a human looking spirit or like that one weird looking blue guy whose cave was turned into a tourist attraction would be kinda mid for me.

Then again, I see no reason why I wouldn't love to be in a peaceful enough looking universe as Angry Beavers ( but only if I were a beaver or otter ).

Similar thing with Tiny Toon Adventures. Seems like a fine enough fictional world to live in and, if I'm lucky, I think I'd fit in at Acme Looniversity, if I was an animal toon young enough to attend instead of being my current age. Would be kinda creepy for me to be mg current age and attending that school as a student...

Although, I think I wouldn't mind being my main Toontown character... so long as tge world isn't as small as the game is. If it were an actual fleshed out world, you bet your jellybeans that I would be off fighting cogs!

Yeah, so I am gonna stop here because there are a TON of different cartoon/cartoon adjacent/animated universes I wouldn't mind living in.

The Cosmere, specifically post-Catacendre Scadrial. The vibe is just so cool between Wild West and 1930s New York mixed with amazing powers that anyone can use given the right tech.

Wheel of time

I mean, practically? Orion’s Arm.

Taking care of humanity is literally trivial.

There’s a big soup of civilizations and frontiers and mysteries to explore. Some danger to keep it interesting. Infinite and transcendental pleasure to experience, entire simulated worlds you can try.

But it’s grounded in real physics, so you don’t get that big can of worms from living in a universe that isn’t… self-consistent.

In other words, its as sci-fi as you can possibly get without things getting timey wimey.

But my adventure-yearning-heart says Avatar.

Bending is just so freaking cool. It’s the best magic system ever.

most of them seem to require an advanced alien/ being to save "humanity"
