In East German railways, vertices often had to be sacrificed because of cost and supply issues. After reunification some were donated by the West, but it just wasn't the same.

That’s just the egg of a big toblerone
Got me wondering for a moment... even if it was real, what would be its practicality? Things like this are rarely done so just because.
It might make it harder for train surfers to hitch a ride.
So it doesn't blow over in high winds?
Fitting into a triangular tunnel of that exact shape and size
But it all goes in the square hole anyway.
