a map of the solar system where Mars has been labeled “Marc.”

Love this way more than I should. I just imagine the rest of the planets with new names.

Meriel, Vanessa, Ernest, Marc, Justin, Stewart, Umberto, Nathan, and Paul

[–] NOPper@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 2 months ago

Oh hi Marc.

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 15 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Umberto

Finally put an end to all those Uranus jokes 👍

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 2 points 2 months ago

yeah that was about the best of those

[–] shartgargle@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago

No! But what about the radiated winds coming out of Uranus?

Now you get Umberto jokes.

Umberto: Hallo, Ich bin Umberto und hier um Ihre Tochter zu ficken.

Vater der Tochter: UM WAS?!

Umberto: Um-ber-to.

Paul can't sit at the same table as those other kids anymore, but he's the coolest of his new friend group, which is much larger.

Does no one bother with quality control anymore?

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 24 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Look at who's running the country.

[–] binarytobis@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I’m pretty sure he fired the educational quality control and replaced them with someone who straight up hates schools.

It's pretty clear that the MAGA admin wants to destroy even the last vestige of any public service, so yeah, that tracks.

First assignment should be to correct all the errors without using an internet connection

Actually a good idea.

Hey, class. Today i found these awful AI slop generations of the solar system. We'll be going to the library to research the actual planets and fix the mistakes. We'll also write short description paragraphs about each planet based on what we learned during our research.
Make sure to write down the title and author of each source used!

The fact that it misspelled Texas but got Wyoming correct is pretty hilarious.

[–] AntiBullyRanger@ani.social 9 points 2 months ago

Welp, Southern staters aren't getting brighter

Has middle school subjects changed so much that they need new materials? Or are they avoiding paying for licensed educational materials?

The second is exactly right, though at the same time school books are a massive scam too. They'll change a picture or reorganize the wording and say the old one is outdated. I don't know anything about k-12 book sales but I am intimately aware of how the college book system works. So I can't imagine it's a whole lot different other than possibly cheaper to avoid scandal.

What are they smoking in Kentucky?

[–] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 2 months ago
[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Cheap weed, oxycodone if they're still up to the crap they were up to when I lived there. But aside from being way more into pot than I thought they're mostly drinkers

[–] Abyssian@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Lead based paint.

I like where Tijuana is located now.

[–] Cricket@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Notice that there's two Tijuanas now.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 2 points 2 months ago

Yup. It's Mexico's for all.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 3 points 2 months ago

I prefer these new names.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

To be fair it spelled Texas how Texans pronounce it.

The certificate still needs to come from the school, but it's now up to parents to educate their children.

It's been getting worse over the past several years, and for the most part teachers are not to blame, their hands are tied by admin, and some really awful parents, too.

Read /r/teachers for some insight, especially if you have kids in elementary school.
