Facebook algorithm pretending that it's not able to read drunk from this "censorship" ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭

Know what doesn't refuse to pick you up if you're pished? The Night Bus.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT WINS AGAIN! INVEST IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 52 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (2 children)

But public transport won't make a handful of people rich, so that's a non starter for many.

And you might have to reckon with living in a society, with other kinds of people. You'd really ask someone to ride a bus with a {slur of your choice} just sitting there, like they're entitled to peace and dignity?

In other words, conservatives are fuck heads who make the world worse for stupid reasons.

Edit: fix autocorrect mistake

how is this not posted as straight satire? Why is every one of these images cooler than the last?

[–] socsa@piefed.social 10 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Yes, but also not a big fan of oppressive religious dress codes.

[–] tmyakal@infosec.pub 14 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Good news: you don't have to ascribe to an oppressive religious dress code. The people that do want to dress in ways that conform to their religious and cultural beliefs can, and that continues to have fuck-all to do with you.

[–] SaltSong@startrek.website 8 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

What about the ones who don't want to, but are forced into it?

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

That’s not okay, which is why where are not and should not be any laws in our country regarding what to wear, what to read, what you are allowed to do with your body (as long as it doesn’t violate someone else’s or force them into violent, gory, or sexual situations)

You hearing this, Christians? The USA isn’t here for you to make puritanical.

[–] SaltSong@startrek.website 2 points 1 hour ago

The men forcing women to dress like this aren't using the law to force them. Laws forbidding dressing like this are, theoretically, to protect them from being forced.

[–] socsa@piefed.social 2 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

The ones forced into it, I pity. In my area, it's fairly common to see a women (and girls) out in the park in full religious garb, while their husband is in sweatpants and flip-flops. It definitely makes me angry. I honestly don't think anyone chooses to dress like this unless they are forced to by a man.

[–] SaltSong@startrek.website 1 points 1 hour ago

I'm open to the probability that there are such women. But I can't imagine that they area anything but a sharp minority.

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 2 points 2 hours ago

I see this sometimes from a distance, even with children. The boys are wild and loose, the girls on a tight leash.

Unfortunately, trying to address that with the sledgehammer of The State is not easy to do safely.

[–] luthis@lemmy.nz 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Unfortunately the people that don't want to conform to the dress code of their religion get beheaded.

Or have their genitals mutilated

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 12 points 5 hours ago

Nah liberals are people like Hakeem Jeffries. This is the future that actually free people want.

(Also phone girl can get it)

Public transit stops at midnight where I live. Won’t work for someone out at 2am.

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Last time we did the smart thing and we stayed till first train in the morning. Was also cheaper to drink till dawn and eat shit in McDonald's than take taxi home 🤣

[–] MnemonicBump@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 hours ago (4 children)

In the U.S. there are only two places that serve alcohol 24/7 (New York and Las Vegas). Pretty much everywhere else stops serving at 2am

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 hours ago

Truly a fascist country

[–] tmyakal@infosec.pub 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Big difference between serving alcohol and selling alcohol. When I was doing 3rd shift, we'd get out at 5AM, head straight for the gas station, and pour tallboys into paper cups and drink in front of the store.

First bus home came by at 6:30. I was usually pretty buzzed by then.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Meanwhile in my country you can serve alcohol all night, but you can only sell it (to go) between 10 AM and 10 PM

[–] chocrates@piefed.world 3 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

New Orleans is all night as far as I am aware

why tf is the word drunk censored.

[–] socsa@piefed.social 6 points 4 hours ago

Useless censorship has become a shibboleth for social media brain rot. People do it to mark themselves as current on social media trends. That's all it is. There's no evidence that it has anything to do with content strikes.

[–] SanderZeldenthuis@nord.pub 32 points 6 hours ago

that's it now they know you are dr*nk

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 24 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

OP can edit and claim this as their own work:

EXCUSE ME???? CHILDREN MIGHT SEE THIS???

[–] Klear@piefed.world 27 points 6 hours ago (3 children)

Engagement bait. Just downvote and move on next time.

[–] breadsmasher@lemmy.world 9 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Pretty sure lemmy doesnt track any engagement except votes.

[–] zikzak025@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

That's assuming this image was originally made to be shared on Lemmy. But most content in this community almost certainly comes from somewhere else first.

We inherit secondhand social media engagement metrics.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 11 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Pretty sure you can sort by activity. Also, most stuff on here was on a different platform first.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this comes from Uber drivers getting tired of being assaulted and having their vehicles trashed by drunk people.

It’s not all of them, but it’s likely enough of them to ruin it for everyone.

[–] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 hours ago

Once had some drunk guys shove a girl in my cab and give me enough cash to get her home. She puked in the back seat. And I had to get her dad to get her out of the cab and her tiny little brother was upset. You get this kinda service from an uber?

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 14 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

You can never really get rid of the smell of vomit in your car, either.

[–] Hazel@piefed.blahaj.zone 6 points 6 hours ago (5 children)

Ozone should do the trick.

Since when does corporate give one fuck about what their wage slaves want?

Probably lawsuits, or the growing threat of lawsuits.
