Is that not what the US is doing now? They will vote GOP if the candidate went live on international news performing the most vile act anyone can imagine. Because they are in their end game.

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

He doesn't get that if there is an end time where each gets what is deserved, he will be going directly to hell, no pass go, no collect anything.

[–] mechoman444@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Hi.

Atheist here.

This is bad.

But understandable. Christians are ok with this because they think they're going to go to heaven and be with God and bask in his ever lasting glory or some shit.

Hope they haven't been wearing mixed cloth clothing or shaved their beards.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Fuck you, Roger Stone, for bringing these abominations to power.

[–] bloviate@lemmus.org 4 points 4 hours ago

This is bad, m'kay?

[–] greggish@lemmus.org 11 points 6 hours ago

committing global genocide for something that isn't real certainly is... a choice.

Thiel is an accelerationist, therefore his pet is too

[–] Kintarian@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago

Bring it on. Rapture all these fuckers up so I don't have to listen to them anymore.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

we'll be more than happy to bring about his end time

Many Evangelical politicians - notably George Dubya Bush - have the same POV. To them the chance to be big players in God's Great Plan is like lighting the torch in the Eternity Olympics.

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 4 points 6 hours ago

Does it fuck. They just spout this bullshit because it will pull voters.

I believe in the tooth fairy more than these arseholes believe in anything at all.

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 15 points 10 hours ago (4 children)

Hasn’t that always been the endgame for White Christian Nationalists?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

i had an interesting conversation with someone who i had viewed as a mentor growing up. we both walked away wondering where we'd lost the other one. in summary we were talking about deepwater horizon, as it was current news at the time. they mentioned that the world had to basically be destroyed before jesus came back so why bother. i told them in the language of the cult we'd been raised together in that weren't we supposed to take care of the environment? (and everyone clapped i'm sure, we were blocking half an aisle in costco).

but like, if i could rip a bandaid and make everything as magical as they believe it will be, i'd go for it. just, shit ain't squeeze that way.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 2 points 9 hours ago

I hate that cult, almost as much as Squeak. I think Cristianity needs to be destroyed before sanity can come back, I'd outright ban it.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Why can't they do everyone a favor and pull a Heaven's Gate? At least those guys didn't want to make everyone suffer with them.

[–] nickiwest@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Because in order for their belief system to be passed down though generations, they had to make suicide a sin. Otherwise they would actually kill themselves to get to Heaven more quickly.

I have known Evangelicals who refused medical treatment because they were "ready to be with Jesus."

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

What we need is another super-spectacular event like the 1833 Meteor Shower, which many of them will interpret as the end of the world.

End-times fascism - the alliance, explained by Astra Taylor and Naomi Klein, between technology, fascism, and faith.

It is an ideology in which this motley crew shares a fundamental premise: this world can no longer be saved, and only a certain type of human may and can survive the downfall of our world.

In climate disasters, wars, pandemics, and the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the end-times fascist sees not only threats, but precisely also welcome, sacred signs confirming their conviction that the apocalypse is approaching, and of the urgency to gather their in-group. And where most people want to prevent the Doomsday Clock from actually striking twelve, the end-times fascist would rather press the accelerator, while quickly loading their select in-group into the trunk before setting course for bunker safety, divine salvation, or Mars. After all: someone convinced that the world is doomed anyway has little reason to protect it, and mostly just wants to get out.

'To even describe this worldview makes you sound a little bit insane,' Astra Taylor tells us. And indeed: her story sounds like a bad conspiracy theory, but it is not. It is an uncomfortable truth in which the main players often possess billions of dollars, power, and access to the technology of tomorrow. The fact that the most powerful and wealthy people on Earth adhere to this ideology doesn't exactly help. Certainly not when they no longer try to prevent disasters, but concern themselves solely with the question of who is allowed to survive... Fortunately, there is still, somewhat, hope. Just listen to Astra.

About Astra Taylor The Canadian-American writer is known for her socially critical books. In her work, Taylor refers to hopeful alternatives and advocates a different approach to our planet. In addition, Taylor writes for The New Yorker and The New York Times, and received an American Book Award. Besides her literary work, Taylor has also made several documentaries and is one of the founders of the organization Debt Collective.

Are americans bringing business and profit to a standstill yet? Didnt think so xd At least Carney had the balls to declare war and to target goods from swing states for tarrifs

As a side not for everyone. All religions were designed to get rid of the masses once we have the means for it. It was tried multiple times in the past but now we are reaching a stage where the military industry has the technology to “bring gods from the heavens”. There will be 2 kinds, the ones who accept their faith and “will be sent to heaven” and those who oppose and will be slaughtered just like the rest.

They will bring the biblical events to life through technology, get rid of the masses and have this heaven for themselves.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 10 points 10 hours ago

If you support bringing the end times, you are supporting the anti-christ according to their religion. Therefore they’re going to be the ones left behind and headed for however many thousand years in hell until their god hits the reset button. Idiots can't even keep themselves on any side of their own religion.

Of course, Satan will promote him if he does.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I mean we're a joke of a country. There's no way around that at this point.

The majority of voters voted for this.

What a uniquely embarrassing time to be an American. History will look down on us, as it should.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 1 points 8 hours ago

A lot of voters voted for this.

A lot of voters did not vote at all in apathy for the DNC.

A lot of voters who would not have voted were raised into voting because mush did that fake million dollar lottery.

I'm not going to say where not in a fuck ton of trouble, but way less than 50% wanted any of this shit before it even got rolling.

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

JD does not believe this, of course. He is just tellin' 'em what they want to hear. If you offer JD a shiny quarter, he will assume any position or belief you require. When Trump is finally hanging from a lamppost (and oh god, let that day come soon), JD will go right back to saying that he was against Trump from the beginning.

[–] likebudda@reddthat.com 6 points 11 hours ago

It's their governing style after all.

[–] ViceroTempus@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Okay, so let's bring the end times to the Republicans. Since they want to die so badly, I'm happy to oblige.

You heard them, we can now bring about their end without worrying about it. They consented.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 9 points 13 hours ago (3 children)

navelstaring americans think the destruction of their shithole is the end of times.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

The evangelicals are more likely thinking of the middle east rather than US. Biblical prophecy notes Israel being attacked as the key point of kicking off the end times. This is why accelerationists push so hard for Israel to get embroiled in violent conflct. Even if it is a counter attack, still counts by the prohpecy.

In America, they would likely describe things as "on the mend" as they are getting their way.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

one might note, a specific hill in israel being attacked. i had to read that damn book.

Of course he is. That's when Jesus comes back, that's what they're waiting for.

Then, they will be whisked up to Heaven, and Jesus and friends will MURDER EVERYBODY and cast them all into Hell for eternal torture.

This is Christianity; like all Abrahamic faiths, they revel in the slaughter of unbelievers. They always have and they always will.
