badposting is a comm where you post badly

This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.

Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

Rules:

  1. Do not post good posts.
    • Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
    • Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
  2. This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
  3. This rule intentionally left blank.
  4. If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.

Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

This kinda weird shit is a big part of why I love star wars. If it were cannon that there's a Chucky cheese style outer rim attraction with repurposed trade federation droids doing song and dance numbers it would be entirely consistent and on brand for the universe.

Especially if they're THROWIN' CHEEKS

The one part of Star Wars that has just kept getting better is how ~~hot~~ cool the droids are. From C-3PO to the battle droids to K-2SO

Hard agree. Hell even BB-8 is a really goddamn cool design.

the best droidcore DJ in the outer rim, Roger Roger often re-samples Gungan vocals into dynamic bass lines

I'm relieved it wasn't just me thinking this, but also disturbed.

Well these robots were useless in combat so I guess they got repurposed as...sex bots aware

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 9 points 6 days ago

Well these robots were useless in combat

They were repurposed comedy droids, clearly.

Are there any Star wars stories where a droid and a human fall in love? There really ought to be

[–] abc@hexbear.net 7 points 6 days ago (2 children)

droids can barely think for themselves in SW canon - like they're literally slaves outside of the 'special' (the term iirc is manumitted or whatever) droids :(

IRL we have people trying to romance AIs that aren't half as clever or independent. I'm not saying that a human-droid romance would have to necessarily be portrayed as a positive thing (it might very well violate established ethics in-universe), but it would make sense that in a galaxy with trillions or quadrillions of people, there are a few that fancy a droid.

And manumitted droids do exist, so it doesn't have to be a master-servant sort of deal either

Closest I'm aware of is in some of the old EU novels where two of Luke's students are in a relationship and something happens where one of them has his consciousness transferred into a droid body.

WHY DOES THE ROBOT HAVE CAKE

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 7 points 6 days ago

This droid would cure Din Djarin's racism

I bet you could install a flexible outer coating to a B1 that looks like any bipedal alien race, just using the droid as a skeleton.

If it didn't want a roger-rogering, why is it leaning forward and sticking it out like that?

[–] Alisu@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

The fact that they're wearing a shirt and nothing else makes this look even weirder, but if there were more clothes it could be even worse
