It is, and you can absolutely understand her motivation.
I also read the linked article on Genevieve Bujold and that was brutal. The men in charge of Voyager fuckin' hated her.
Good shout for that linked article.
It's good that a lot of people, including Bujold herself, producer Berman, the director, and even the other cast members, caught that she was wrong for the part early on.
Yes, that part is good, but the director and execs were piling on in a way that felt personal and IMHO unprofessional.
Wow, my mind boggles imagining as to how would Erin Gray as Janeway have been.
