Nick Adams' social media is so absurd that many have speculated he's a performance artist. The president thinks he should be a diplomat

[–] RaoulDook@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"my ex wife was tarded, but now she's a pilot!" (we are living inside Idiocracy for real now)

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Except President Camacho was smarter than Trump.

[–] thebestaquaman@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

He had the important (and, admittedly unrealistic) important capability of recognising that someone was smarter than himself.

I honestly think this is the major plot hole in Idiocracy: The first thing to go would be peoples ability to recognise expertise. Thus, nobody would be willing or able to recognise that a stranger knew how to solve a problem they had no clue how to deal with. This is the real-world Idiocracy we're seeing today.

Oh my fucking God, it's that fucker.

It reads like satire, but yall saying he is for real?

As real as these booty shorts

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 20 points 2 days ago (4 children)

That fat Aussie cunt? He's either a great performer who is always in character, or a completely feckless gobshite.

Wouldn't be the first time conservatives fell for an absurd caricature (cf. Steven Colbert's many, many conservative fans in the first few years of his show)

[–] synae@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

If you don't mind an off topic question, what does the "cf." notation mean? I've seen it before but never had the chance to ask the author before my curiosity waned :)

Latin for "conferatu", used for comparison or to refer the reader to an example

Confoederatio futura. It's like Confoederatio helvetica but for the futura font.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If it's the first, this is about to be fucking hilarious

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I have been absolutely sure it was a joke. His shit is so over the top.

[–] merc@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

It's not just over the top, a lot of it appears to be engagement bait where he sets himself up for people to dunk on him. Check out some of the tweets I've posted in this discussion.

Maybe he is both serious about being a MAGA acolyte, but also playing an over-the-top character that gets him more attention, even if it's just so people dunk on him.

[–] Geobloke@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago

Well the Australian Liberal party (actually right wing) kicked him out for being too much of a dicked soooo yeah

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago

alot of AUSSIE cunts have fled to the US because of the permissiveness of right wing tolerance.

[–] tubthumper@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Y'all. Never heard of this guy before now. Read through all those screenshots from merc and the quotes from the article, and... this guy is most definitely performing for us. And I mean all of us, captivating the callously cultish right and aggravating reasonable lefties alike. Impressive!

There really is a nuance to his apparent lack of any self-awareness that simply cannot be dismissed. To ride such a fine line, to rustle the jimmies of so many, and then manage to be tapped for such a position, one with such exquisitely mediocre amounts of power...

It's not the onion. Dude is the onion.

Hopefully the onion to my guacamole.

I, for one, would love to see a taco replaced with a tomahawk any Tuesday. Any Tuesday now...

This is my favorite. I ride motorcycles and as a whole the people I've met who ride are pretty accepting except for a couple of very old or very young dickheads. But trying to ride that fucker side saddle would get you laughed at by even the most accepting riders.

[–] merc@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 days ago

He didn't say he "rides" the motorcycle, that's just how he sits on a Harley. He sits on it as if someone else owns it and he asked if he could have his picture taken with it.

[–] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wait a moment. I always assumed that those were ironic xeets. It's not a satire account????????

[–] merc@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

My best guess is that he's actually a hardcore MAGA grifter, but part of that is being an attention whore, so he's happy to put out tweets where people dunk on him as long as it results in more attention.

[–] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 1 points 2 days ago

Watch out, a woman can plow you down there, or so I hear.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

Possible upside, he might fly on a Boeing to his new post.

Coming soon to Malaysia, hooters.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Wait I thought that was a satire account

[–] LetmeLemmy@hilariouschaos.com 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Anyone who refers to themselves as an alpha male is in fact a complete bitch.

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] thebestaquaman@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I always assumed this was a parody account because of this post. Recent developments suggest otherwise. Is this guy, in fact, not a parody?

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I was never sure but yeah, looks like he’s a real human person somehow

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

if that is his picture in the article, he looks more like hes in his 50s.
