It’s a race! Iran has been 2 weeks away from a nuclear weapon since 1978. Trump has been 2 weeks away from annihilating iran for 6 months.

Trump propagandists could teach Zeno a thing or two about finish lines.

Friday already?

He decided he can't beat Canada. Back to Iran!

Trump backed down on Greenland when Europe said “nuh-uh”. He will go slaughter some starving cubans instead.

What a lionheart trump is.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 5 points 1 hour ago

But wait I thought they were already totally destroyed and decimated and annihilated and embarrassed and begging for a deal. President Warloser and the Secretary of War (crimes) couldn't be lying to me and the state of the "Trump Strait" that he definitely controls could he?

[–] III@lemmy.world 8 points 1 hour ago

Oh, so upcoming news on one of the other despicable things he is doing to harm people and he needs a distraction.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 1 points 24 minutes ago

Translation: He's not getting enough attention so he found something to say to get everyone talking about him all day again.

I feel like, and this isn't in dreadful anticipation of anything in particular or anything, but like the UN General Assembly should get together and vote on a resolution saying the nuking countries is bad and that any country, no matter who they are, that nukes another country without being existentially threatened themselves first, is a rogue nation and that if it ever happened, the entire rest of the world would do something about it.

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 1 points 9 minutes ago

If the UN ever enforces a resolution, it should be this one. This war has not changed my mind anout Iran having nukes, but it has become crystal clear that the US should NOT have nukes.

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 8 points 2 hours ago

This isnt even saber rattling anymore. Its just an old man threatening the kids to get off his lawn, except its not his lawn, its a lawn on TV, and they aren't even kids, they're deer.

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 7 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Truman won't be the only war criminal that used nuclear bomb. Truman, Trump, there is something about stupid arrogant Americans which name starts with Trum

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 1 points 22 minutes ago

Using the bomb saved lives though. Using it twice was overkill perhaps, but a ground invasion of Japan would've caused so many more casualties. I would remind you previous napalming of Tokyo killed more than both the nuclear weapons.

Their culture was fight to the death, it would've been magnitudes worse with a ground invasion.

[–] im_fine_sandy@nord.pub 14 points 3 hours ago (4 children)

LOL. If there was a big decision he wouldn't need to announce that it was coming.

[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 hour ago

Dude's vague posting like a twitter influencer

[–] anon6789@lemmy.world 1 points 52 minutes ago

I dunno, this was my first thought yesterday when I saw the news of a potential withdrawling of 25-50,000 US troops from Europe...

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 hour ago

Yeah this is market manipulation. Again.

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 6 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

It’s like when a parent gets frustrated and starts yelling at a kid without thinking anything through. “When we get home I’m gonna…well you just better hope I don’t decide to annihilate Iran, mister.”

[–] cecilkorik@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 hours ago

I'm going to turn this car around right now!

[–] NoForwadSlashS@piefed.social 1 points 1 hour ago

Fuck, it's just as we've feared, the Yanks have developed used diaper catapult technology

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 12 points 3 hours ago

The top cop, mister flip flop. He would nuke anybody if the spotlight were to get too close to the proof of his degeneracy.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 38 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

And none of his followers think anything about the potential annihilation of a whole country. Truly despicable. At least they'll keep each other company in Hell.

[–] dragonlover@lemmy.zip 32 points 4 hours ago (5 children)

I remember when i was a kid my mom would say shit like "we wouldn't be in a war if we just bombed the shit out of them til there was nothing left." They dont see the people living in the middle east as people, they didnt 15 years ago and they dont now. there is zero empathy and its disgusting

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world -4 points 48 minutes ago

I had a boss who said the solution to the middle east is to nuke it. I thought he was kidding at first, but I don't think he really was.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 13 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (1 children)

It's just the natural continuation of a mentality that allowed "people" to come to a different land, rape and murder everyone in sight, settle in the graveyard they filled themselves, and still call themselves people, supported by God even. Nothing new, but the fact it's been over 200 years and it's still prevalent enough that Trump, the figurehead of Western imperialism and white supremacy, has over 30% approval rate, makes it all very sad. But John Brown existed, so I keep my hopes up that one day, God willing, humanity and the desire for peaceful coexistence will settle in the heart of "radical" Westerners.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

Every people has some black stains on their past...but it really seems like white people are the last ones to realize it.

We (white people) are the bad guys.

There's been lots of bad guys, but for the past millenia or so, white people have been and continue to be the worst.

We're #1?

I guess what we have to accept is that if we're not the bad guys, then someone else is and then we are the oppressed. So we can't just forfeit being the world's assholes, because somebody else will do it to us!

[–] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 51 minutes ago

In my opinion, wealth is the primary driving factor of that. Exploitation and abuse of the bottom by the top seems to occur in nearly every culture that doesn’t put in strict safeguards to neuter the privileged.

The British empire dominated so much of the globe that the white elites advanced to the Olympic level of exploitation, but if we blame it on their color alone, we are leaving the back door open for other ghoulishly rich groups to stand in their place.

I believe the real issue is the aristocratic class. In England, it was determined by heredity, and in America, it is determined by money, but the kind of person who inhabits that role is the same: mean spirited selfish assholes who fundamentally believe they are better than everyone else and that they deserve to get everything they want because the average Joe is inferior to them in every way. They think normal people serve no purpose unless they are serving the needs of an elite.

That attitude strikes me as profoundly anti-human, and I think they should be treated as what they are: a predator that threatens the entire species who must be eliminated for the common good.

Is anyone keeping count on the times statements like this have been made? It feels like it's on a 3 week cycle.

Almost like he's trying to distract from something.

[–] protist@retrofed.com 8 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

For fucking real. Stop reporting on what the man says he's going to do and report on what he actually does

[–] Murse@slrpnk.net 10 points 4 hours ago

With Operation Epstein Fury?? Naaaaw!

Hasn't Iran already been annihilated several times?

[–] rumimevlevi@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago

Don't you know that iran is a phoenix?

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 4 points 3 hours ago

Turns out he was right, I am in fact tired of all this "winning" against Iran.
