MODERATORS
The pump at my regular gas station used to have a hidden mute button. Hold down the top right button next to the screen and voila no annoying ad noise.
After a a year of this they replaced the pumps and now I cant mute the ads anymore. Sad face.

Most gas pumps that do that have a way to mute them. It's usually the second button from the top of the four on the right hand side. Sometimes it's the top right button, but most of the time it's the second one. Enjoy the silence. Oh, and also if you press and hold 2 on your microwave, you can turn the button pressing and beeping off. Silent microwave is the way to go.
Most gas stations in my area have disabled the hidden mute button.
That's a bummer. Still works most times I try it here in San Diego.

My microwave starts a 2 minute cycle. Do I have to hold the button until it's done?
Hmm, it may be different from model to model, maybe give it a Google, but generally it's just number 2 for only a couple seconds though.
