Theyre smart to that already, most of the ad pumps I've run into have speakers hidden inside the housing that you can't access anymore, and the "bottom left button on the screen mutes the ad" trick is disabled.
At this stage I just boycott those stations, leave a 2 star review on Google and deal with paying an extra 15c a gallon a couple blocks away.

Why not walk on some railroad tracks until you find a railroad spike lying around?
Then you could take that spike and stab the screen. 8 screens taken out, and the gas station can't pump gas anymore. You'd think they get the message before they get to the 8th. If not? Oh well. Their loss.

Why not just build your own dirty nuke from parts you got on the dark web and use it to wipe the city block containing the offending gas station off the map completely?

Correct. Loud, half blown speakers, usually three adds in a cycle. If we just avoid stations that have them.
Ads for gambling should be prohibited, just like those for tobacco and alcohol.
Are you saying ads for tobacco and alcohol are prohibited on gas pumps? Because ads for alcohol are all over every advertising medium in existence.
Depends on where you are.
Where I am, alcohol, tobacco and gambling were all prohibited in advertisement, then gambling had a pass (because those making the laws are most likely in the pockets of gambling execs), but it looks like it will get prohibited again.

There was once a campaign going that had billboards like: no more cigarette ads? Next they ban ads for (some sausage) and i just thought: yeah, ban them too, and any other ad.
I assume these people exist, but who the fuck sees that and goes: NOT MY SAUSAGES!! Or: NOT MY ADS!
But without ads, our children and grandchildren will have no idea what to do when they have a structured settlement and they need cash now.

I've started blasting death metal as load as possible when this happens. If my ears are going to be assaulted I'll just double down with the noise i want to hear. Luckily the pump i go to has never done this so i try and go there everytime.

You can afford canned air in this economy?
Dollar Tree is more expensive per oz than MicroCenter, but having a little can of air around is pretty damn handy, and not a huge investment...
And the only chance I get to go to Microcenter is when I go to work, since it's near my office, but I've been WFH since covid and it's like an hour and a half from here.

I have legit punched the screens, and pressed all the buttons so hard in, I'm suprised nothing broke.
When it's obvious from the start you can just drive to a different station (for now), but when it sneaks up on me is when I get angry.
